FUTURIST TAROT COMING 2021

I am working on a full deck of Futuristic tarot cards. Tarot is a system of divination that grew out of a medieval european card game. By randomly shuffling these images laden with symbolic resonance card readers may construct a scaffold of meaning over the cards they draw. The randomized cards mirror the chaos and meaning in human life.

This tarot deck is a call to rekindle our aspirational vision of the future. Western scientific rationalism has given the world unprecedented material abundance but threatens the biosphere with destruction. It points to no ultimate destiny for life beyond the heat death of the universe. Faced with a culture of entropy, This deck is dedicated to the persistent yearning for spiritual transcendence.

I will be illustrating a full seventy-eight card deck. my twenty-two major arcana will take inspiration from the masterful work of Pamela Coleman-Smith. The 56 minor arcana will feature completely original work. Though the suits of wands, cups, swords and pentacles will remain the same, each suit will correspond to a different class of speciated post-human society.
